‘BIG BREAK' TO SHOWCASE THE PALM BEACHES GOLF EXPERIENCE
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (December 18, 2014) - The new season of Golf Channel's competition series "Big Break," slated to air Feb. 2, 2015 at 9 p.m. ET, will take place against the tropical backdrop of The Palm Beaches, Florida. Hosted at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, "Big Break The Palm Beaches, FL" will showcase the incomparable year-round golf experience offered within the region.
"The Palm Beaches offer the most impressive golf experience in Florida. In fact, historically, this is where Florida's first 18-hole golf course was built by Henry Flagler," said Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO of Discover The Palm Beaches. "Viewers who tune into ‘Big Break' this winter will realize why we are Florida's Golf Capital®."
During "Big Break The Palm Beaches, FL," highly-skilled golfers are pitted against each other in a variety of challenges that test their physical skills and mental toughness. One contestant will be eliminated each week with the last player standing awarded his or her Big Break - an opportunity to compete on the PGA TOUR. In its 23rd season, the show has made stops in some of the top golf destinations in the world including previous seasons in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Scotland.

This season, contestants and viewers alike have the opportunity to discover the scenic world-class offerings in Florida's Golf Capital® through the PGA National Resort & Spa's five tour-worthy courses, one of which hosts The Honda Classic, a PGA-sanctioned event. PGA National Resort & Spa offers the complete resort experience, and recently underwent a $100 million revitalization.
Beyond PGA National, The Palm Beaches offer three more of South Florida's top golf resorts, each with their own pristine courses: The Breakers Palm Beach, Boca Raton Resort & Club and The Seagate Hotel & Spa. The Palm Beaches are home to more than 160 public and private golf courses - from executive to championship level - designed by the best names in the industry, for golfers of every handicap.

The Palm Beaches is also home to some of the best golfers in the world; a report in The Palm Beach Post in 2012 counted some 61 current and former touring pros within the area, not including seasonal renters like Rory Mcllroy. Tiger Woods, who resides in the area, capitalizes on the year-round warm weather and hallmark views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway at courses found within the county, and is also set to debut his first restaurant concept "The Woods: Jupiter Sports and Dining Club" at Harbourside Place in Spring 2015.
