DISCOVER THE PALM BEACHES APPOINTS DEVELOPMENT COUNSELLORS INTERNATIONAL AS ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCY OF RECORD
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 26, 2014) - Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), the official tourism marketing organization representing Palm Beach County, Florida, has appointed Development Counsellors International (DCI) as its public relations agency of record, beginning Oct. 1, 2014. DCI was chosen from thirteen (13) firms that responded to a request for proposal in July, followed by finalist presentations in early August.
"We're thrilled to announce our partnership with DCI, the leader in marketing places, to advance our earned media program, both in traditional and new media," said DTPB president and CEO Jorge Pesquera. "Discover The Palm Beaches will be able to leverage DCI's established relationships with leading media contacts and influencers to increase awareness of our newly launched destination brand in North America and beyond."
DCI has been retained for media relations, consumer promotions, digital content creation and influencer engagement in the U.S., Canada and select international markets. The firm will also support DTPB's
sales team to enhance relationships with tour operators, airlines, meeting and incentive planners and travel agents.

"The destination offers an impressive 47 miles of beaches, 160 golf courses plus cultural, ecotourism and family attractions - it truly is the best way to experience Florida."
The agency has partnered with local firm The Buzz Agency to assist with community relations and visiting media. DCI and The Buzz Agency will leverage the destination's market positioning strategy to grow visitor arrivals, length of stays and tourism spend for the benefit of the county. Additionally, DCI will collaborate with DTPB's media buying agency (TAG) and creative marketing agency (Levatas).
