Expanding County Tourism Organization Strengthens Group Sales Team

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2015) - Discover The Palm Beaches, the official tourism marketing corporation for Palm Beach County, today announced that Kelly Cavers has been appointed as its new Senior Vice President, Group Sales, effective Oct. 13, 2015. In her new role, she will lead the 12-person sales department and develop business strategies to secure meetings, conventions, trade shows and events as a means to increase tourism to Palm Beach County.

Cavers joins DTPB with more than 19 years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing. Her most recent assignment was with Choose Chicago, the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, Illinois, where she was Vice President, Intermediary Sales for three years. Prior to Chicago, Cavers spent five years as National Director of Sales for the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she spearheaded business development strategies to drive incentive groups from the mid-west and Eastern Canada. In addition, she also held sales and management positions at Bristol Myers Squibb and United Airlines.

Cavers has a Bachelor of Arts/Science degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a concentration in Finance. She is active in industry associations, including the Professional Convention Management Association, Meeting Professionals International and the Society of Incentive and Travel Executives.
