Expanding County Tourism Organization Strengthens Group Sales Team

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Apr. 5, 2016) - Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), the official tourism marketing corporation for Palm Beach County, today announced two new hires to the Sales team: Peter Cronin as its new Director of Sales, Southeast, and Peggy Murray Hagaman as its new Director of Sales, Midwest. In their roles, they will work within the 12-person sales department and develop business strategies to systematically solicit and secure meetings, conventions, trade shows and events to increase tourism to Palm Beach County. Cronin will have a specific focus in the Southeast region, and Hagaman in the Midwest region of the United States. Cronin is based in Atlanta, and Hagaman in Chicago.

Cronin joins DTPB with more than 20 years of sales management expertise. His most recent assignment was with Choose Chicago, the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, Illinois, where he was National Sales Director. In that role, he focused on driving citywide conventions, utilizing both convention center and in-house hotel opportunities. Cronin also brings experience from Gaylord Hotels, Omni CNN Center, Associated Luxury Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Renaissance. At Gaylord, he was regularly a top 5% producer within their National Sales network and was recognized with numerous awards. Cronin has a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts with a concentration in marketing.

Hagaman is a veteran of the Destination Marketing Organization world, with her most recent experience at the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau for more than twelve years. In that role, she spearheaded the establishing of long-term relations with association executives, meeting planners and event/trade show managers. Prior to that, she was with both the Dallas and Cleveland Convention & Visitor Bureaus, in charge of their new business development strategies. Hagaman has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois State University.
