Oktoberfest is celebrated big time in The Palm Beaches - for two full weekends in fact (October 11-13 and 18-20) - complete with delectable German food, Oompah bands and plenty (and we do mean plenty) of thirst-quenching beer straight from the old country. The 40th Annual Oktoberfest, hosted by the American-German Club of The Palm Beaches, offers everything German, from potato pancakes and Leberkäse to original Hofbräu Bier to one-of-a-kind German pastries.
When to Go, What Else to Expect
The party starts on Friday nights at 5 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at noon. Entertainment includes two original bands from the Munich Oktoberfest in Germany, along with traditional folk dancing, choral singing and sing-alongs, which we promise are a whole lot easier with a Hofbräu in hand. After the beer and brats, round out your Oktoberfest festivities by stopping by the wide range of specialty vendors and craft booths or take the little ones to a special kids zone. Admission is certainly affordable - just $8 for adults, and children under the age of 12 are free with a paying adult.
