THE PALM BEACHES, Fla. (May 11, 2015) - Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) announced the appointment of Jason Emmett, son of the late Paul Emmett, to the Discover The Palm Beaches Board of Directors. The Executive Committee unanimously voted to welcome Jason onto the Board of Directors. He will officially begin his duties as a Board Member at the May Board Meeting.

"Jason brings a rich background in the art of hospitality and food service," said Jorge Pesquera, President and CEO of Discover The Palm Beaches. "His years as Paul's understudy and his proven leadership of the ever-expanding Duffy's restaurant chain will bring enormous value to Discover's Board and management team."

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Clark University, Jason began his career for the New York City-based Restaurant Associates as an Operations Manager at the United Nations foodservice facility. He was subsequently promoted to Assistant General Manager of the overall foodservice operation.

Following a total of three years at the United Nations, Jason joined Duffy's Sports Grill in 2005 as a group supervisor. In 2007, he was promoted to Senior Vice President. His responsibilities encompassed all aspects of the companywide operations with a heavy focus on growth. During this time, Duffy's expanded from 16 locations to 27. In February 2015, Jason was promoted to President, and will continue to lead the organization as Duffy's continues to expand throughout the state of Florida.

"It's an honor for me to join the Board of Directors of Discover The Palm Beaches and continue to serve in place of my father, Paul Emmett," said Jason Emmett, President of Duffy's Sports Grill. "He was very passionate about serving alongside this distinguished group of business professionals and community leaders. I look forward to continuing his passion for promoting Palm Beach County as the premier destination in Florida."
