PALM BEACH COUNTY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU APPOINTS NEW LEADERSHIP
TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
- New and ex-officio members for Fiscal Year 2012-13 Board also announced -
Palm Beach County, FL (October 25, 2012) - The Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) today announced the appointment of the newly elected officers chosen to lead its Board of Directors, as well as the appointment of two new members and three ex-officio members, as the organization enters the 2012-13 fiscal year.
Effective October 2012, President and CEO of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce
Troy McLellan will serve as the CVB's Chairman of the Board, with Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the South Florida Fair/ Palm Beach County Expositions, Inc. Vickie Chouris serving as Vice Chair. Former Ex-officio member Joseph Cardenas was elected as Secretary and Treasurer of the Board, and Duffy's Sports Grill Owner Paul Emmett and Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach General Manager Colin Clark were appointed at Executive Board Members.
The CVB also welcomed the addition of two new members- West Palm Beach Marriot General Manager
Cheri Rutledge, and Boca Raton Wyndham General Manager Ken Kaylor - both appointed by the Palm Beach County Hotel and Lodging Association. Lynn University's College of Business & Management Dean Thomas Kruczek, Top Tier Leadership President Rita Craig, and Attorney with Akerman Senterfitt, Wesley Lauer, were all appointed as ex-officio members for this year's board as well.
"The Palm Beach County CVB Board of Directors' wide range of professional experience and expertise will bring insightful and important new perspectives to the County's tourism promotion," said Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau's President & CEO Jorge Presquera. "Our new leadership is composed of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who will play an essential role in the positive growth we've enjoyed as an industry in Palm Beach County, and we look forward to continued success with all of the great talent on our latest board."
The Palm Beach County Convention and Visitor's Bureau Board of Directors is comprised of professionals who occupy leadership positions that provide unique and beneficial opportunities for the CVB in the areas of tourism promotion and business development. In addition to the abovementioned individuals, the organization's current roster of 19 board members includes the following: Director of Sales for The Breakers Palm Beach and the Board's Past Chair
Jim Mostad, Boca Raton Resort & Club President Stephen Ast, Embassy Suites General Manager Jay Badillo, Fugazy International Travel President Yvonne Boice, The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach General Manager Roger Everingham, Lion Country Safari Vice President Harold Kramer, former marketing executive Janine Mayville, Equipment Rental Services, Inc. Vice President Sharon Merchant, and Vice President of Sales & Marketing of The Breakers Palm Beach David Burke.
