-The Palm Beaches recognized for outstanding facilities and services for group planners-
THE PALM BEACHES, Fla. (OCTOBER 3, 2011) - The Palm Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been awarded the prestigious 2011 Gold Service Award by Meetings & Conventions magazine. Selected by the publication's 60,000 subscribers-some of the most discerning meeting and event planners in the country- the award recognizes the top Convention and Visitors Bureaus that demonstrate continued, superior dedication to meeting professionals.
"This recognition by Meetings & Conventions is particularly important to our destination because it is a direct reflection of our support in assisting meeting planners and our genuine hospitality in assisting their guests," said CVB President and CEO Jorge Pesquera. "This award acknowledges not only our exceptional group and conference services and facilities, but also all other facets of the travel experience encountered by meeting guests during a stay here in The Palm Beaches."
This year, the readers of Meetings & Conventions awarded only 91 domestic and 16 international CVBs and tourism boards with the Gold Service Award distinction. Criteria for voting included professionalism of staff, support of hotels and site inspections, assistance with ground transportation planning, guidance on local attractions, and liaison with local vendors and services.
"We constantly strive to maintain The Palm Beaches and Boca Raton as the premier destination for meetings, small or large, and for any budget," said CVB Senior Vice President of Global Sales Doug McLain. "The award from Meeting & Conventions readers truly emphasizes our success in creating flawless events in a destination that truly is the best place to meet in Florida."
The Palm Beach CVB will be featured in Meetings & Conventions' Gold Awards issue this November.
