-Flights to commence in January, 2012 anticipated to produce an estimated $10 million annually in direct visitor spending in Palm Beach County-

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla (Oct. 3, 2011)- The Palm Beach County Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) and Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) today joined JetBlue Airways and Bradley International Airport (BDL) to announce the airline's first-ever year-round, non-stop daily flight between Hartford, CT and Palm Beach County, commencing on January 12, 2012. The 150-passenger jet was added to this year's flight schedule in response to the growing demand for a direct route between the two destinations.

The new flight will bring an additional 55,000 airline seats into Palm Beach County annually, resulting in approximately 30,000 hotel room nights sold to thousands of new visitors. Direct visitor spending from this service is conservatively estimated to bring an additional $8 million dollars into the local economy.

"We're thrilled about this new daily Hartford - West Palm Beach flight - it certainly reaffirms the trust and longstanding commitment by JetBlue in our destination as they grow their presence in Florida", said Palm Beach County CVB President and CEO Jorge Pesquera. "JetBlue has been serving The Palm Beaches and Boca Raton through PBIA since their company's launch in 2000, and we are very proud that a full decade later both JetBlue and JetBlue Getaways continue to step up this partnership, bringing thousands of new customers from a critically important and affluent market."

The announcement of this new flight comes after a very successful summer promotional campaign between the CVB and JetBlue's vacation packaging entity, JetBlue Getaways.
"We're very excited to announce nonstop service between Hartford and Palm Beach, Florida," said Dave Clark, director of route planning for JetBlue Airways. "We find that Hartford and Palm Beach are a great fit for the JetBlue brand. We've had a lot of success in both of those communities and we feel that travelers really appreciate the extra offerings that JetBlue gives;
the extra legroom, the free DirecTV, and the award-winning customer service."
"JetBlue has been an increasingly key player at PBIA for several years and we look forward to a continuing expansion of this important relationship", said Bruce Pelly, Director of Airports for Palm Beach County.

The PBI/ BDL route will operate on an Airbus A320 seven days a week, departing PBI at 2:30 p.m., arriving at BDL at 5:15 p.m, then back to PBI at 6:00 p.m., landing down at 9:10 p.m. Passengers flying this route will also be able to take advantage of PBIA's recently-implemented discount parking program, which offers a $20 parking discount to passengers flying on new nonstop flights to cities that are not current destinations from PBIA, available for 90 days from the start of each new route.
