- San Juan's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport flight marks fourth new direct service for PBIA this year alone -

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla (May 15, 2012) -JetBlue Airways today launched the first-ever, year-round, non-stop daily flight between San Juan, Puerto Rico and The Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) in Florida, bringing with it an estimated $7 million in direct economic impact for Palm Beach County, through the approximately 15,000 additional guests staying in hotel rooms. The new service marks the fourth new non-stop flight added to PBIA's daily schedule in 2012, after AirCanada's second Toronto flight, JetBlue's first-ever Hartford/Palm Beach flight, and it's addition of a 16

th daily flight out of New York City metro area.

To kick off this new flight, JetBlue is offering fares as low as $93 each way from Palm Beach County today through May 25, 2012, at This introductory fare is valid for travel between May 29 and June 21, 2012 (a). The new service operates with the airline's 150-passenger Airbus A320, departing PBIA at 8:50 a.m., arriving at SJU at 11:20 a.m., and departing SJU at 12:10 p.m., arriving at PBIA at 2:54 p.m., each day.

"JetBlue has been a tremendous airline partner to our destination," said Palm Beach County Director of Airports Bruce Pelly. "We are so pleased to be entering a Caribbean market and know its anticipated success will open even more doors into more markets for PBIA."

"We are thrilled for this opportunity to connect the oldest city under the American Flag with America's First Resort Destination," said Palm Beach County Convention and Visitor's Bureau President and CEO Jorge Pesquera. "The Caribbean and Latin American markets have great potential for us here in The Palm Beaches and Boca Raton, and we are confident that this new service via JetBlue will allow the Puerto Rican community to finally discover the birthplace of tourism in our region and the best way to experience Florida."

"We look forward to continued growth as JetBlue moves into a new home at the airport in San Juan and ensure that we deliver the best experience in the skies every day for our Floridian and Puerto Rican customers," said John Checketts, director of route planning for JetBlue. "This includes convenience of frequent flights, excellence in customer service and superior product offerings."

Puerto Rico is a growing market for Palm Beach County's tourism industry, due in large part to South Florida's large Puerto Rican population. There are currently roughly 71,000 Puerto Ricans living in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and the northern portion of Broward Counties- the region described as PBIA's "catchment area" - making us a popular destination for the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) travelers from Puerto Rico.
