Public Invited to Select 2015 Providencia Award Winner
Vote for the winner on now through November 19th

West Palm Beach, Fla. (November 2, 2015) - Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) and its Providencia Committee of local tourism representatives announce the start of the online public voting process to determine the recipient of the esteemed 2015 Providencia Award. The award is given annually to a local business, organization or individual with a record of making an extraordinary contribution to the vitality and prosperity of The Palm Beaches as a desirable tourist destination.

As part of the selection process, the community is once again invited to cast their vote for the winner of the 2015 Providencia Award from November 2 - November 19, 2015 at

This year's three finalists are the following: Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative, The Brazilian Court Hotel and Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

"The finalists for the 2015 Providencia Award represent the best of what The Palm Beaches' tourism industry has to offer," said Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO for DTPB. "With such a wide array of tourism assets, we are pleased to spotlight these three for their significant contribution to Palm Beach County tourism."

Some highlights of the finalists' exceptional contributions to Palm Beach County's tourism industry include:

Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative
The Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative (DBMC) is a small team of dedicated and creative marketers who handle Destination Marketing for Delray Beach. The DBMC also produces the City's hometown events -the Famous 100 Foot Christmas Tree, First Night and July 4th. These events bring in hundreds of thousands of attendees and almost $8 million in economic development each year to Delray Beach. The team is a PR machine that generates $2.2 million in media value every year and more than 1.2 billion media impressions.

The Brazilian Court Hotel
Located in the heart of what is known as "America's Riviera," The Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach resides just steps away from the luxurious, world-renowned shops of Worth Avenue and the sapphire waters and sugar-white sands of the Atlantic Ocean. The famous historic landmark hotel boasts a Frederic Fekkai salon and exquisite cuisine by Chef Daniel Boulud at Café Boulud. Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Unique among nonprofits, Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a totally free (no charge) cultural facility in northern Palm Beach County, Florida. The non-profit center educates over 300,000 visitors annually on their continued mission; to promote conservation of Florida's coastal ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. LMC's beachside campus is home to one of the world's most advanced sea turtle hospitals and research laboratories. The center also operates the iconic Juno Beach Pier.

The 2015 Providencia Award winner will be announced at a Providencia Award Ceremony at the Discover Connections event from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Decembre 3, 2015 at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.

Following the application process completed by ten award nominees, a committee of local tourism representatives selected the three finalists. Each nominee demonstrated excellence in contributing to the growth of the local tourism industry; implementing innovative marketing, PR and social media initiatives; and creating awareness of The Palm Beaches as a premier tourist destination.
