This marks the sixth VISIT FLORIDA event taking place in Palm Beach County.

The Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism is a premier educational conference for tourism officials, providing an opportunity for all industry members to network with fellow travel professionals, learn about participation in VISIT FLORIDA's wide range of programs and hear from industry experts and keynote speakers about proven, hands-on strategies for increasing travel. Attendees can look forward to panel discussions, expert speakers and in-depth breakout sessions supporting this year's theme - 100 Million [Visitors] & Beyond: Getting Your Share.

"We sincerely look forward to welcoming the conference delegates at the 47th Annual Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism in Boca Raton," said Jorge Pesquera, President and CEO of Discover The Palm Beaches. "As the host destination, we are proud to share with our fellow tourism industry representatives why The Palm Beaches is The Best Way to Experience Florida."

With the Boca Raton Resort & Club as the event's host hotel, the Governor's Conference is anticipated to produce approximately 1,400 room nights, equating to $1.1 million in estimated economic impact to Palm Beach County.

"As the premier educational gathering of our state's tourism professionals, the Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism has been bringing the industry together for nearly five decades," said Will Seccombe, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA. "During this year's event in beautiful Boca Raton, we look forward to celebrating another successful year in the Florida tourism industry and preparing for the state to host 100 million visitors and beyond."

Tourism continues to be the No. 1 industry in the county, with 1,350 hotel rooms in construction and another 1,400 in the pipeline. This represents an 18% growth by 2022, which will place Palm Beach County room inventory at the highest level in over 40 years.

"This unprecedented 18% growth in room inventory is the first major surge in a generation," said Pesquera. "In addition to the much-anticipated Hilton West Palm Beach Convention Center Hotel, the wide range of hotel brands opening throughout Palm Beach County will give visitors a larger range of options, while increasing the county's ability to grow its tourism economy. Tourism is clearly a top industry in The Palm Beaches with more than 20 projects and 5,000 jobs in the horizon."
