Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail
Palm Beach Bike Trail
From riding paved oceanfront to off-road marsh tracks, bike-friendly trails crisscross The Palm Beaches, making it easy for you to explore - no matter what comfort or age level. Here are a few favorites:
Nearly 10 miles of compacted shell-rock trails at Riverbend Park in Jupiter invite you to see the beauty of untouched, natural Florida. This is a great park for you to catch a glimpse of birds, alligators, bobcats, otters, deer and other local wildlife. Riverbend Park also offers a bit of history, as it is located at the site of the Second Seminole Indian War and part of Florida's Ocean-to-Lake Trail. Also located along the pathways are original Indian River orange groves from more than 100 years ago and remnants of a bridge used by the military in the 1800s. Bikes are available for rent for a few hours or the day, Thursday through Monday. Make your reservation today.
Designated as a segment of the Florida National Scenic Trail, the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST) provides breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding agricultural lands. Explore the 110-mile trip around the entire Lake by mountain bike with its mix of asphalt and gravel pathways. Along the way, find and photograph some majestic wildlife - particularly in the fall and winter, when birds such as heron, egret and a variety of wintering waterfowl are abundant - of course, keep a sharp eye out for a gator or two. Two of the best access points are John Stretch Park and Paul Rardin Park.
