Boca Raton, Florida

The meaning of the appellation "Boca Raton" has always been an intriguing topic of discussion for visitors and locals alike. Many people incorrectly assume the name is Spanish for "rat's mouth." The Spanish language, however, has many interesting double meanings. For instance, the word boca (or mouth) often described an inlet, while raton (literally mouse) was also used as a term for a cowardly thief.

The Mizner Park grounds in Boca Raton are beautifully landscaped. Home to decorative walkways and fountains that entice pedestrians to take leisurely strolls through the site, the grounds also offer various restaurants, cinemas and entertainment. Mizner Park provides an amphitheater located on the north end of the grounds. This outdoor venue is the scene of numerous free concerts and various family recreational events throughout the year. Mizner Park was developed as a mixed use residential, commercial and cultural center, and has become an absolute catalyst  for many visits to the downtown Boca Raton area. - information courtesy ci.boca-raton.fl.us
