Pahokee, Florida
Welcome to Pahokee...that's "Grassy Waters" in Seminole. Pahokee, the only town
located directly on the shore of big Lake Okeechobee, is known as Palm Beach
County's "Other" Coast; the Coast without the crowds and the miles of sand.
Seven miles of majestic towering Royal Palm trees greet visitors driving into
Pahokee. The tropical climate, moderating balmy breeze from Lake Okeechobee and
nature's richest organic soil, called "muck" makes our town a natural home for
the Royal Palms.
We're a little off the beaten path, so to speak. It’s a benefit that has kept
Pahokee small, quaint, and rural. It’s a benefit we think makes us special,
too.
While the rest of Florida has boomed, Pahokee has maintained its balance and its
sanity. These days, we're finding more and more folks come out just for that
reason. -text courtesy
