More than a century ago, Edward Curtis set out on a monumental quest to make an unprecedented record of the North American Indian, producing approximately 50,000 photographs. This exhibition features an extraordinary and powerful collection of these rare vintage photographs by Curtis. An illustrated catalogue is available in the Museum Store. This exhibition has been organized by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography, Minneapolis/New York City/Paris/Lausanne, in collaboration with the Flagler Museum. It was curated by Christopher Cardozo, author of nine monographs on Curtis and curator of Curtis exhibitions seen on six continents.
