The Travel Effect in Palm Beach County
National Travel and Tourism Week is an official event sanctioned through the US Travel Association, recognizing and celebrating the tremendous contribution the tourism industry provides on every level- from local to national- to the economy and in turn, overall quality of life for every American.
The $813 billion industry also accounts for more than 7.5 million jobs in the US and 45,000 jobs throughout The Palm Beaches, making our county one of the top destinations for job growth in the state of Florida. Tourism impacts us all and is a major factor in why we do not have to pay a state income tax here in Florida. Travel to our area means outside dollars coming in through taxes and spending, and is considered to be one of Palm Beach County’s largest industries.
So what does all this mean for you? A healthy tourism industry impacts the quality of your life. It equates to less taxes, more job opportunities, more thriving businesses, and additional investments in community developments and beautification projects. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
