Partner Portal Launches at Discover Connections

Discover Palm Beach County hosted yet another successful Discover Connections partner networking event at The Addison in Boca Raton. Partners received a first-look and tutorial on the Partner Portal – the Partner-only section of the website – as well as some insight into Social Media and ideas on how Partners can work better together in the social world with DPBC. Palm Beach Outlets Celebrates Grand Opening

The Palm Beaches welcomed the newest addition to the county’s vast array of shopping venues on Valentine’s Day with the official grand opening of the Palm Beach Outlets. The mall offers 100 stores with more to open in the coming months, as well as many additional stores in the 750,000 square feet of retail space as part of Phase 2 set to finish this fall.


Palm Beach Kennel Club Hosts World Series of Poker Circuit

For the fourth consecutive year, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit called Palm Beach Kennel Club home beginning February 5th – 17th. Poker players from across the country converged on Palm Beach County for the 14th stop of the WSOP circuit. Opening weekend kicked off with PBKC’s signature event, the $1 Million Guarantee, with five flights and a $580 buy-in. The event brought more than 2,000 room nights and an estimated event impact close to $1 million. WSOP Circuit players came from all over the country with 77% from out-of-county.

In Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Awards survey, readers determine the top hotels and resorts in the world. This year, four Palm Beach County hotels and resorts were selected as part of the World’s Top 500:



Palm Beach County Hits 4 Years of Consecutive RevPAR Growth

Palm Beach County currently ranks 2nd in the state in ADR growth and RevPAR growth by monthly comparison over January 2013.
  • Occupancy was 81.6%, up 4.6% from 2013, positive for 47 out of the last 50 months
  • Average Daily Rate (ADR) was $186, up 10.7% over 2013, positive for 41 of the last 44 months
  • Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) was $152, up 15.8% over 2013; positive for 4 consecutive years

Central Florida Sales Mission – Orlando and Tampa, FL

Associate Vice President of Group and Meeting Sales, Steve Crist partnered with seven Palm Beach County hotels for a sales mission to the all-important in-state markets of Orlando and Tampa. This mission gathered 23 key meeting and convention planner contacts.

Destination Showcase – Washington, D.C.

Associate VP of Convention Sales for the Mid-Atlantic, Donna Del Gallo attended this renowned DMAI event, which is North America’s largest one-day event exclusively bringing conference, convention and trade show professionals together with exhibiting meeting destinations. This event produced 5 leads and 9 prospects for The Palm Beaches.

American Express Reservation Training – Miramar, FL; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL

Director of Sales for North America, Eda Ruddock met one-on-one with 240 AMEX travel agents over three days of training to inform and teach them about “The Best of Everything” that The Palm Beaches has to offer.

Religious Conference Managers Association – Sacramento, CA

Senior Director of Sales for the Affinity Markets, Connie Hunter attended this three-day top meetings industry event, which included one-on-one appointments with planners, trade shows and educational sessions. This show produced 9 leads, 50 prospects and 250 contacts.
