First Annual Discover Forum Is a Success!

Discover The Palm Beaches hosted its first-ever Discover Forum for industry partners, executives and staff. More than 50 industry representatives attended the inaugural event at the Palm Beach County Convention Center to participate in roundtable discussions with peers and strategize about positioning the destination as the organization prepares its annual Sales & Marketing Plan for the 2014-15 fiscal year. Attendees were able to hear from keynote speakers including Paul Phipps from VISIT FLORIDA, Duane Knapp from BrandStrategy, and Cindy Estis-Green of Kalibri Labs.

The Palm Beaches Welcomes Two New Flights to PBI

The Palm Beach International Airport team has landed two new flights beginning this Winter from key markets, Boston and Washington, D.C. The daily flight to and from Boston is set to begin November 21st with seasonal Spirit service through the Winter months.

JetBlue has also announced new service to The Palm Beaches with a nonstop flight to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in D.C. The new service will begin on December 18th, operating in the Winter season.

Discover Team Member Earns DMAI's "30 Under 30" Selection

Brandon Hall, Global Sales Administrative Specialist, has been selected as one of the Destination Marketing Association International's (DMAI) "30 Under 30." DMAI, along with founding program partner SearchWide, and sponsors IMEX and USAE, use this program to identify and develop the talent of destination marketing professionals, 30 years of age and under, through increased access and exposure to industry networking and thought leadership. Brandon will participate in a year-round professional development program, set to convene for the first time at DMAI’s Annual Convention held July 21-23 in Las Vegas.

World Series of Poker Returns to Palm Beach Kennel Club

Poker players from across the country will be converging to The Palm Beaches for the first stop of the 2014-15 World Series of Poker Circuit. Palm Beach Kennel Club’s Poker Room will host the WSOP Circuit events from July 30th - August 11th. Florida’s only stop since 2011, PBKC will be the only location to host two circuit event stops.

PBC Reaches 52 Consecutive Months of Positive RevPAR Growth

Palm Beach County currently ranks 4th in the state in Average Daily Rate (ADR) and RevPAR compared to May 2013.

  • Occupancy was 69.2%, down 1.5% from 2013, positive for 50 out of the last 54 months
  • Average Daily Rate (ADR) was $132, up 4.8% over 2013, positive for 45 of the last 48 months
  • Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) was $92, up 3.3% over 2013; positive for 52 consecutive months

Two 24/7 City Secrets Episodes Have Aired in Chicago

DTPB welcomed the TV crew in from Chicago for filming of the show, “24/7” capturing "City Secrets" of The Palm Beaches. The host of the Emmy Award-winning program, “24/7,” filmed five travel segments - on five separate episodes - which have begun airing. The surfing episode at Boca Raton Resort & Club can be viewed here. Check out the shopping episode from Worth Avenue here. “24/7” airs on NBC 5 in Chicago on Saturday nights, and ranks #1 in its timeslot.
