Tourism Record
3.9 million visitors for the first half of 2016 keeps us on track to another record-breaking year

2016 First Half-Year Visitation and July Hotel Occupancy Reach All-Time High in The Palm Beaches

The Palm Beaches are on pace for record-breaking visitation for the calendar year of 2016. With 3.9 million visitors for the first half of 2016 we are on track to reach our anticipated 7.2 million visitors by the end of 2016. The growth in number of hotel room nights sold compared to last year ranks second in the entire state of Florida. The Palm Beaches also had record occupancy for July at 71.9%. "This is the first time we've ever had a July hotel occupancy above 70 percent during July, since we began tracking data with STR," said Jorge Pesquera, President and CEO for DTPB. "Since we will soon have more hotel rooms available than ever before, it makes the occupancy statistic even more impressive."
