TDT Possible Changes

Update: TDT Expansion Bill

House Bill #7099 Relating to Tourist Development Taxes was approved by the House and Senate at the end of session. In the end, only Bay, Okaloosa and Walton counties were affected with provisions to allow the county to use up to 10% of Tourist Development Taxes for public safety purposes. Luckily for Palm Beach County we were not affected by the approval. Discover thanks you for your hard work in reaching out to our Senators and representatives to oppose this bill and help keep our tourism development funds intact for now.

March Guest Service Tip: Know How To Apologize

When something goes wrong, apologize. It's easy and guests like it. Don't pass the blame onto someone else, argue with the guest, or respond with "that's not my job." That not only makes you look bad, but also the company. Take responsibility, even if it's not your fault and offer options to fix the problem. The guest may not always be right, but the guest must always win. Deal with problems immediately and let guests know what you have done. Value their complaints. As much as we dislike it, it gives us an opportunity to improve. Even if guests are having a bad day, go out of your way to make them feel comfortable.
