29.8 million visitors came to Florida in the first quarter of 2016

Numbers Continue To Rise In 2016

The early Easter date has given The Palm Beaches another record-breaking figure of $7.9 million collected in bed taxes just for the month of March (up 17.6%). Of the 29.8 million visitors to Florida, The Palm Beaches saw 2.16 million visitors, an increase of 3.6% from Q1 in 2015. The visitation growth was primarily due to the domestic markets. With these numbers, The Palm Beaches is on track to surpass 7 million visitors in 2016. Travel Rally Day Celebrated 2015 Milestones & Kicked Off Summer Promotions

On May 6th, more than 100 hospitality employees, elected officials and community supporters came to Discover's sixth annual Travel Rally Day celebration. Guests heard from key county leaders on the importance that travel, tourism and meetings plays in our community. Not only does it drive $7.1 billion in economic impact but also supports 60,000 jobs. Attendees also participated in the beach cleanup to draw attention to the importance of the county's 47 miles of beaches. About thirty five pounds of beach debris was collected that Friday morning.

This summer, DTPB invites travelers to press pause, turn down stress levels and rediscover what's most important during a tropical summer getaway to The Palm Beaches. PalmBeachSummer.com and the new "Pause" campaign will be core components in promoting The Palm Beaches as the summer destination for domestic and international travelers. Discover has also purchased over 25 billboards in the Orlando and Miami DMAs. Therefore, have your brand and summer messaging seen by commuters, in-state travelers and international visitors alike! FPL's Manatee Lagoon Offers Waterfront Yoga Classes

Manatee Lagoon is offering a new way for visitors to find their 'center' during Mindful Moments at Manatee Lagoon, a weekly yoga series held on the beautiful waterway of the Lake Worth Lagoon. Classes will be taught every Tuesday and Thursday by FPL Wellness instructor Yvonne Gross during sunrise and sunset. Guests will experience mindful yoga practice for a variety of class types ranging from "soft" to more challenging yoga poses. Palm Beach County Continues To Be Ranked 2nd For Room Inventory Growth In State

For the month of April, room inventory growth was 4.2%, ranking The Palm Beaches 2nd in the State. With that, room nights sold grew by 0.8%. Occupancy was 75.5%, now ranking 5th in the State. Over the first quarter of 2016, The Palm Beaches saw 2.16 million visitors, up 3.6%. Visitation growth was due to Domestic markets (+5.5%). Room nights consumed increased by 7.5% as length of stay increased as well as stabilizing growth from the UK, Argentina, Colombia, Bahamas and EU. The Palm Beaches is on track to surpass 7 million visitors in 2016
