Phase I of New Website Launched - ThePalmBeaches.com

The new and much improved website allows potential visitors to picture themselves experiencing the destination. With this long-awaited launch, there are many aspects to the new website including a new locator map of the destination with dedicated pages for cities within The Palm Beaches. This map will facilitate finding locations and places of interest, share content directly on social media and eventually expand to more robust content for each city. A new "trending" section brings in all content on a certain topic from blogs to microsites. Full screen images can be seen throughout the site to better showcase the beauty of the destination. In addition, all Discover e-mails have been changed to "@ThePalmBeaches.com." Please make sure to update your address book.

Palm Beach County Recognized as Best Park and Recreation Agency in Florida

The Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) selected the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department as the recipient of the 2016 Agency Excellence Award in the Super Category. The award recognizes and honors the state's most outstanding community park, recreation or leisure service agencies for excellence in park and recreation management. The department was also awarded FRPA's Public Relations Award for the creation of a public service announcement that promotes Palm Beach County's parks as ideal places to partake in physical exercise and enjoy the tranquility of nature for the purpose of positively impacting one's own mental wellbeing. DTPB Attends Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism

In early September, DTPB President & CEO Jorge Pesquera and members of the Marketing team attended the 2016 Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism, the premier annual educational conference for the Florida tourism industry led by VISIT FLORIDA. As part of the conference, which includes educational sessions by top industry experts, an interactive marketplace and exciting networking events, DTPB was awarded with a Silver Flagler Award for its Unplug & Reconnect TV Advertising Campaign.

There will be ticket giveaways, prize drawings and much more. The Society of The Four Arts Announces 2016-17 Season

The Society of the Four Arts announces the biggest season in the organization's history, with more than 500 arts and cultural programs that will be offered in 2016-2017. Highlights include: two art exhibitions; a new lecture series with noted historians; 20 live performances; book signings and appearances from New York Times best-selling authors; a Skype event for teens with author and cybersecurity expert; and more than 80 free children's programs. From January to August 2016, Room Inventory Growth was 3.9%; Room Nights Sold has grown by 2.6%; Occupancy was 74.5%; ADR was $177, which grew by 0.2%; and RevPAR was $131.

  • Room Nights Sold grew by 2.3%, ranking 4th in the State, 5 of which had declines
  • Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) was $73
  • Average Daily Rate (ADR) was $116
  • Occupancy was 63%
  • Room Inventory Growth was 3.7%

Participation in this event focused on sharing information about the offerings available in The Palm Beaches with attending media, and hearing first-hand from travel industry professionals what they are doing to increase exposure and tourism to their respective areas.
