In 1838, the Battle of the Loxahatchee during the Second Seminole War, took place right here. Today, things are far more peaceful. Riverbend Park is a great place to hike, bike, ride horseback, kayak, canoe, or take it easy. There are nearly 10 miles hiking/biking trails, 7 miles of equestrian trails, and 5 miles of canoeing/kayaking trails. And if you want to start an adventure on the Loxahatchee River, a National Wild and Scenic River, Riverbend is the right place to begin.
