The Scoop: It’s out there. The giant. The Big O, as locals call it. But don’t worry, once you see a sunset over this picturesque, freshwater colossal lake, you’ll be hooked. And speaking of hooked, Lake Okeechobee is an awesome largemouth bass fishing spot – may be the best in the world. You must take a picture or two of sunning alligators - they pose right on the shoreline.

The Scoop: If you take a bridge from West Palm Beach, Lake Worth or North Palm Beach over to Palm Beach or Singer Island, look over the rail – that beautiful water is Lake Worth Lagoon. This is no ordinary lagoon. It runs 20 miles in length and is the picture perfect backdrop for natural areas, parks, walkways, bike paths, marinas, historic mansions and city downtowns surrounding the coastline. Look for manatee, dolphins and more.

The Scoop: Ride the shoreline with a two-mile bike path or drop your canoe in for a soothing trip across the water. Lake Ida isn’t a giant lake or lengthy lagoon, but it’s one of the best for taking it easy and enjoying a relaxing day.
