Lake Park, Florida: Snorkel, Dive & Thrive

Lake WorthBefore becoming Lake Park, the town had several titles: Kelsey City, The Miracle City of Florida, A New City in the Making, The Courtesy City of Florida, and The Gateway to the World's Winter Playground. But just one visit to the Town of Lake Park is all it takes to understand why it's been called "The Jewel of the Palm Beaches." Lush landscaping throughout the Town, sails flapping in the breeze at the Lake Park Marina, service-oriented Town staff, and a revitalized downtown all contribute to the desirable quality of life that was envisioned by Town founders in 1923.

The close proximity of Phil Foster Park provides numerous recreational opportunities for visitors with emphasis on boater access to the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. With large pier and two smaller fishing platforms offer anglers the chance to test their saltwater skills in the beautiful waters of the lagoon. A guarded swimming beach provides the perfect access for bathers of all ages to enjoy the sun and fun. And there's no better place to watch the sunset over the Intracoastal.

The underwater snorkeling trail at Phil Foster Park was recently completed. This reef project design included ledges and small habitat spaces for fish, octopus, seahorse, and other sea life. The piles were spaced to create an underwater snorkel trail over a two-acre area. An informational kiosk was constructed along the shoreline to help snorkelers identify various marine life that may be observed.
