The Town of Highland Beach is an ocean side community located along Florida’s state road A1A. With just 0.6 square miles, Highland Beach is home to 4,155 yearlong residents. In the winter months, the population doubles to 8,500 residents who reside in the north during the rest of the year. As an inlet town between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Highland Beach is south of Delray Beach and just north of Boca Raton. Remarkably, Highland Beach is predominately comprised of retired persons with only 20% of the population currently employed in the surrounding counties.
